Security Checks Conducted at Koniamman Temple in Coimbatore Ahead of Republic Day

In preparation for the upcoming Republic Day, Coimbatore Police conducted thorough security checks at the Koniamman Temple, including the use of sniffer dogs for inspecting devotees' belongings.

Coimbatore: As a part of heightened security measures for the upcoming Republic Day on January 26th, the Coimbatore Police have been actively conducting checks in various parts of the city. In this context, a significant operation took place on January 17th at the Koniamman Temple in Coimbatore.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was engaged in a meticulous inspection at the temple. They employed sniffer dogs to thoroughly check boxes, bags, and garlands, among other items belonging to the devotees. This proactive step was taken to ensure the safety and security of the public visiting the temple, especially considering the large crowds that gather during festive occasions.

The security initiative at the Koni Amman Temple is part of a broader effort by the Coimbatore Police to maintain vigilance and prevent any untoward incidents during the Republic Day celebrations. These checks also serve to reassure the public about their safety while participating in the national holiday's festivities.

The police department's efforts reflect their commitment to public safety and are in line with the necessary precautions typically observed during significant national events.
