The 127th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated in Pollachi by distributing saplings to students and the public.
Coimbatore: Pollachi commemorated the 127th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, today with various events organized by the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Youth Forum. The celebration took place in front of the new bus station in Pollachi.
A portrait of Netaji, adorned with flowers, was honored by Pollachi Town Union Member Shyamala Navaneethakrishnan, AIADMK Pollachi Town Secretary Krishnakumar, and MGM College Principal Muthukumaran. Representatives from DMK, AIADMK, MDMK, and Congress paid their respects by showering flowers on the portrait.
The event was attended by students of the history department of N.G.M College, along with the general public. Saplings and sweets were distributed as part of the celebration.
The program also included a community meal for the public. The celebration, led by Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Youth Forum leader Vellai Natraj, saw active participation from Secretary Manikandan, Deputy Secretary Amudhan, Treasurer Subir, and many others.
