Councillor undertakes 100-Kilometer Yatra to Palani in hope of recovering ₹3 Crore Property Tax from College

To prompt the collection of ₹3 crore rupees in property taxes by the Nehru Education and Charitable Trust, Rameshkumar embarked on a 100-kilometer pilgrimage from Thirumalaiyampalayam to Palani.


Coimbatore: Rameshkumar, a council member of Thirumalaiyampalayam Panchayat in Madukkarai Taluk of Coimbatore district, has initiated a unique step towards the collection of overdue property taxes.



To prompt the collection of ₹3 crore rupees in property taxes owed by Nehru Arts & Science College and Nehru Institute of Engineering & Technology, both run by the Nehru Education and Charitable Trust, Rameshkumar embarked on a 100-kilometer pilgrimage from Thirumalaiyampalayam to Palani.

This substantial amount in property taxes has been pending for a long time, and its collection is crucial for the execution of various development works for the public.



The pilgrimage is seen as a move to raise awareness and accelerate the process of tax collection.
