Branch Falls on Government Bus in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, Shattering Windshield

A tree branch snapped and fell onto a government bus in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, on February 12, leading to the shattering of the bus's front windshield. Quick actions ensured no injuries among passengers and minimal traffic disruption.


Coimbatore: A startling incident occurred in Saravanampatti, Coimbatore, on February 12, when a tree branch broke off and fell onto a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus en route to Annur. The bus, operating on the 45C route, was passing the Ramakrishna Mill bus stop near Saravanampatti when the incident took place in the afternoon.

The force of the fall shattered the bus's front windshield, prompting the driver to immediately halt the vehicle and ensure the safety of all passengers.

In a swift response, the driver arranged for the passengers to be transferred to another government bus, ensuring their journey could continue without further delay. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among the passengers or the driver.



Traffic Sub-Inspector Kanagaraj was promptly informed about the fallen tree branch, triggering a quick reaction from traffic police and local municipal authorities. Councilor Poongodi Somasundaram was also notified and quickly arrived at the scene to oversee the removal of the tree branch and ensure the safety of electrical wires in the vicinity, preventing any potential damage or power outages.

Thanks to the rapid response and coordination between the traffic police, municipal councilor, and electrical department, the tree branch was safely removed, and any significant traffic disruption was swiftly mitigated. The local residents commended the efforts of all involved, appreciating the quick actions that prevented injuries and minimized inconvenience.
