Representatives of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), including area councilor Priya and MP P.R. Natarajan, submitted a petition to Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati, requesting improvements in drinking water supply and purification in Karamadai town.

Coimbatore: In a concerted effort to address the vital issue of drinking water supply in the region, representatives of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met with Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati on February 14 to submit a petition. The delegation, including city councilor Priya, MP P.R. Natarajan, and taluk secretary Kanagaraj, presented their demands for immediate action on the drinking water purification facility in Karamadai, under the Coimbatore municipality.

The petition specifically called for the repair and upgrade of the water purification plant to ensure the provision of clean drinking water to the area's residents. Additionally, it requested that the water supply be made available to the community every three days to alleviate the current shortages faced by the locals.

Following the submission of the petition, discussions were also held regarding ongoing development projects within the district and inquiries about the provision of educational loans.

These talks underscore the CPI(M)'s commitment to not only addressing immediate public health concerns but also fostering the overall development and welfare of the Coimbatore district's inhabitants.

The District Collector's office has acknowledged the petition and is expected to review the demands and initiate necessary actions to improve the drinking water supply and infrastructure in Karamadai and the broader Coimbatore area.
