Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Various Development Projects Worth Rs. 2.03 Crore

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner, Sivaguru Prabakaran, IAS, conducted on-site inspections of various development projects valued at Rs. 2.03 crore in the western zones of Coimbatore, including the inauguration of a new computer lab, library, science lab, and nutrition meal center at the Ramasamy Nagar Municipal Higher Secondary School, funded by the CSR initiative with a budget of Rs. 30 lakh.


Coimbatore: In a significant stride towards urban development, Mr. M.A. Sivaguru Prabakaran, IAS, Commissioner of Coimbatore Corporation, personally inspected ongoing development projects across the western zones of Coimbatore, cumulatively valued at Rs. 2.03 crore. The comprehensive inspection underscored the city’s commitment to enhancing its infrastructure and educational facilities.

As part of the visit, the Commissioner inaugurated a newly constructed computer lab, library, science lab, and nutrition meal center at the Ramasamy Nagar Municipal Higher Secondary School in the central zone. This initiative, costing around Rs. 30 lakh, was funded through a CSR initiative by the Rotary Club of Metro Dynamics, aiming to bolster educational resources for the benefit of students.

Highlighting the city's development agenda, the projects under inspection include the construction of a model school hostel in the RS Puram area under Ward No. 72 with an investment of Rs. 98 lakh, an integrated child development building in Vadavalli and P.N. Pudur under MLA's development fund worth Rs. 20 lakh, and a subsidiary health center in Rams Nagar funded by the Urban Health Initiative with a budget of Rs. 30 lakh.





The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve educational outcomes and health services in the region. The day also marked the presentation of advanced robotic machinery developed by students of the Siddhapudur Municipal Girls Higher Secondary School to Commissioner Prabakaran, showcasing the practical applications of their learning and innovative capabilities.



This inspection was attended by Western Region Leader Mrs. K.A. Deivayanai Tamilmarai, council members Mr. Karthik Selvaraj, Mrs. Santhi, Assistant Commissioner Mrs. Sandhya, Engineering Officer Mr. Ilankovan, Assistant Engineering Officers Mrs. Savitha, Mr. Kamalakannan, Mr. Isaac Arthur, Mrs. Vimala, Rotary Club administrators, Principal Mrs. Mariyapushpam, and several municipal officials, highlighting the collaborative efforts towards city development.
