Construction Associations Hold Strike in Coimbatore Against Rising Prices of Mineral Raw Material Products

Construction associations organized a one-day strike in various parts of Tamil Nadu, including in front of the Red Cross Society in Coimbatore, to protest against the rising prices of mineral products on February 27.


Coimbatore: In response to the escalating prices of mineral products, a coalition of construction associations across Tamil Nadu staged a one-day strike today, February 27. A significant portion of this statewide protest took place in Coimbatore, in front of the Red Cross Society building, drawing attention to the adverse effects of these price hikes on the construction industry.



Participants in the Coimbatore strike included members from the Builders Association of India Coimbatore Center, CREDAI Coimbatore, Coimbatore Builders and Contractors Association, Coimbatore District Civil Engineers Association, and the Association of Consulting Civil Engineers (ACCE) Pollachi, with over 50 individuals taking part. They voiced their discontent and raised slogans condemning the impact of mineral product price increases.

Prominent figures such as Ganesh Kumar, leader of the All India Construction Expert Association Coimbatore; Kugan Ilango, head of CREDAI Coimbatore; Sahayaraj, leader of the Coimbatore Contractor and Contractual Association; Sathpathkumar, head of the Coimbatore Manufacturer's Association; Rameshkumar, leader of the Kaatchiya Association Coimbatore; and Rajkumar, head of the ACCE Pollachi, spearheaded the protest, highlighting the collective dissent within the construction sector towards the ongoing price surges.
