Southern Railway Announces Revised Timings for Coimbatore-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

From March 11, 2024, Train number 20642 from Coimbatore to Bangalore Cantt will now depart at 07:25 AM instead of the earlier time of 05:00 AM. Meanwhile, train number 20641 on the return journey from Bangalore Cantt will reach Coimbatore at 20:45 PM, slightly later than the previous time of 20:00 PM.



Coimbatore: In a significant update for railway commuters, the Southern Railway has announced a revision in the schedule of the Vande Bharat Express running between Bangalore Cantt and Coimbatore. The changes will be effective from March 11, 2024, and will exclude Thursdays, aligning with the demands of passengers for better timing and convenience.

According to the latest notification by Southern Railway, the train number 20642 from Coimbatore to Bangalore Cantt will now depart at 07:25 AM instead of the earlier time of 05:00 AM. Meanwhile, train number 20641 on the return journey from Bangalore Cantt will reach Coimbatore at 20:45 PM, slightly later than the previous time of 20:00 PM.



The revision of timings has been approved by the Railway Board, as per the document dated February 27, 2024, referencing a letter from February 21, 2024. The change aims to enhance travel convenience for passengers and is expected to be widely publicized through print and electronic media, as well as announcements at stations.

Travelers are advised to note the new timings and plan their journeys accordingly. The updated timings at intermediate stations such as Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Dharmapuri, and Hosur have also been announced. For instance, the arrival and departure timings at Salem will change to 09:32 AM/09:35 AM for train number 20642, and 17:57 PM/18:00 PM for train number 20641.

The Southern Railway has emphasized that this move is in response to passenger feedback and is aimed at ensuring a more comfortable and convenient travel experience. All concerned departments and officials have been notified of the changes.
