Kaushal Kishore, AGM of Southern Railway, convened a meeting with MPs of Salem Division, discussing infrastructural developments, ongoing projects, and plans for Coimbatore Jn station redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Coimbatore: In a significant development aimed at enhancing railway services and infrastructure in the Salem Division, Kaushal Kishore, the Additional General Manager of Southern Railway, held a comprehensive meeting with Members of Parliament representing the constituencies within the division's jurisdiction on 28th February 2024. The meeting saw the participation of MPs Thiru P.R. Natarajan (Coimbatore), Thiru A.K.P. Chinraj (Namakkal), Dr DNV Senthil Kumar S. (Dharmapuri), Thiru A. Chellakumar (Krishnagiri), and Thiru N. Chandrasegharan (Rajya Sabha).


Principal Heads of Departments from Southern Railway, including Shri Pankaj Kumar Sinha, the Divisional Railway Manager of Salem Division, and other senior officials, were also present. The gathering focused on the review of completed infrastructural developments, ongoing projects, and future plans aimed at the division's progress. A special mention was made about the redevelopment of the Coimbatore Jn railway station and the development of 15 other stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, indicating a significant boost to passenger amenities and infrastructure.
During the meeting, the MPs engaged in detailed discussions on various topics, including train services, stoppages, passenger facilities, and land acquisition for railway projects, aiming for the expeditious completion of these projects. They also provided valuable suggestions for the improvement and development of the Salem Division, highlighting the collaborative efforts between the Southern Railway authorities and the elected representatives to enhance railway services for the public.
