Founder of Kongu Nadu Munnetra Kazhagam, Best Ramasamy, announced the association's decision to ally with BJP for the 2024 parliamentary elections during a district-level administrative meeting in Coimbatore, aligning with national development and governance reforms.
Coimbatore: The Kongu Nadu Munnetra Kazhagam has officially declared its alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the forthcoming 2024 parliamentary elections. This announcement was made by the association's founder, Best Ramasamy, during a district administrative meeting held at a private hotel on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore.
Ramasamy stated that all administrators unanimously agreed to his decision, indicating a consolidated approach towards the elections. He further addressed the media, emphasizing the critical juncture India is at, with many parties vying for power but yet to finalize their strategies. According to him, India has progressed significantly over the past decade, citing improvements in national resilience and governance.
He lauded the current administration's stance of self-reliance, especially during crises, contrasting it with past governance where foreign aid was sought. Ramasamy highlighted the stringent governance under Prime Minister Modi, who ensured tight administration without any corruption, as opposed to previous governments which saw ministers embroiled in scandals.
The emphasis was also on the clean administration under the current government, with notable ministers like Nitin Gadkari setting examples of transparency and efficiency. This contrasts with Tamil Nadu's political climate, where Ramasamy critiqued the lack of transparency and the alleged nepotism in administrative matters.
Ramasamy pointed out the environmental neglect in the region, specifically the Noyyal River's pollution, blaming successive state governments for failing to allocate funds efficiently for cleaning operations. However, he expressed confidence in Prime Minister Modi's ability to address such issues if re-elected.
He touched upon the financial assistance provided to farmers and the push for linguistic unity across states, praising the central government's initiatives that have significantly increased state revenues, such as the implementation of GST.
Concluding his statement, Ramasamy reiterated the Kongu Nadu Progress Association's commitment to support the BJP in the upcoming elections, motivated by the party's governance model and development agenda. He also mentioned receiving three calls from BJP state leader Annamalai, confirming the alliance's support for BJP's vision for India.
