Coimbatore: In a significant move towards bolstering security, Police Commissioner Balakrishnan inaugurated 45 advanced CCTV cameras in the Edayarpalayam area, extending to KNG Pudur. This development comes under the jurisdiction of the Goundampalayam Police Station and aims at covering small streets and critical areas to enhance monitoring and safety.
The newly installed cameras are part of a comprehensive plan to equip the entire region with modern surveillance technology, enabling precise identification of individuals and vehicle numbers. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Thanga Mahal Hall in Edayarpalayam, attended by notable dignitaries including Assistant Commissioner of Saibaba Colony, Naveenkumar, who welcomed and addressed the gathering.
The event also saw the participation of Coimbatore North Deputy Commissioner of Police, Rohit Nathan Rajagopal, as a special guest. During the ceremony, Commissioner Balakrishnan highlighted that the cameras would serve as an "extra eye" for the police force, significantly enhancing their ability to monitor and maintain law and order.
