Bomb Threat Hoax at Alvernia School in Coimbatore

A bomb threat hoax at the Alvernia Matric Higher Secondary School in Coimbatore's Ramanathapuram has caused temporary panic among students and parents amidst ongoing public exams. Police have declared the threat as unfounded after thorough inspection.

Coimbatore: A moment of panic ensued at the Alvernia Matric Higher Secondary School located in the Ramanathapuram area of Coimbatore, following a bomb threat email received today, March 18. The school, which educates over a thousand girl students, was conducting morning public exams and regular afternoon classes at the time of the incident.

Upon receiving the bomb threat, school authorities promptly informed the police, who quickly arrived on the scene with the bomb disposal squad. After a detailed search of the school premises, the police confirmed that the threat was a hoax and there was no bomb found, bringing relief to both the police and school administration.

Following the clearance, the school resumed its regular classes in the afternoon after the completion of the morning exams. Despite the scare, the police assured that there was no need for panic and that the safety of the students and staff was their top priority.

The incident attracted a crowd of concerned parents in front of the school, demanding that their children be sent home as a precaution. After the police and school management clarified that the bomb threat was false, the situation was defused, and the school day continued as planned.

This bomb threat hoax comes at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in a road show in Coimbatore, raising concerns about security. The swift action by the police and the subsequent confirmation that the threat was unfounded helped to alleviate the situation and ensure the safety of the students.
