Kanimozhi Highlights Central Narcotics Agency's Failure to Control Drug Trafficking in Tamil Nadu, Calls for Central Intervention

Amidst allegations by BJP state leader Annamalai of rising drug trafficking in Tamil Nadu, DMK's Kanimozhi points out that narcotics control falls under the central government's jurisdiction, calling for Union Home Ministry's responsibility in the matter.

Coimbatore: DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi, supporting DMK candidate Ganapathi Rajakumar in the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency, addressed media at Residency Hotel on Avinashi Road, highlighting the BJP-led central government's role in controlling drug trafficking.

Amid claims by BJP state leader and Coimbatore candidate Annamalai about increased drug circulation in Tamil Nadu, Kanimozhi clarified that narcotics prevention is a central responsibility, asserting the Union Home Ministry should directly address the issue.

During her campaign for Rajakumar, Kanimozhi expressed confidence in DMK's victory in Coimbatore, citing the party's significant contributions to the state's development over the past three years.

She emphasized the need for Tamil Nadu to remain under the secular coalition of the DMK and its allies, urging the public to reject BJP's governance in the upcoming elections.

Kanimozhi criticized Annamalai's accusations of rising drug issues in Tamil Nadu, pointing out the recent massive drug hauls in Gujarat and questioning the ownership of the port where these were seized.

She mocked Annamalai's claim of securing 60% votes for BJP in Coimbatore, stating that dreaming is his right, but assured victory for DMK.

Addressing the funding of election campaigns, Kanimozhi responded to Annamalai's assertion of not spending money for votes by questioning the expenditure on BJP's election materials.

She emphasized the DMK's reliance on Chief Minister's welfare initiatives rather than financial inducements for votes, showing confidence in the party's electoral strategy.
