Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services observed Fire Service Day on April 14, commemorating it as a day to honor the valiant firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty. This year, a memorial event took place at the Southern Fire Station, located on Coimbatore Railway Station Road, to pay tribute to the fallen heroes.
Regional Deputy Director Saravanakumar presided over the ceremony.

During the event, he laid wreaths and scattered flowers at the memorial column within the station, paying homage to the firefighters.

Additionally, other firefighters also participated in paying their respects.

The event was attended by key department members including District Officer Pulugandi, and assistant officers Alagarsamy and Ramachandran among others. The tribute marked the beginning of a series of activities focused on fire prevention awareness, scheduled to run until April 20, promoting safety measures and the significance of firefighting services.
