Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Vote Counting Center Ahead of Parliamentary Elections

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Sivaguru Prabhakaran inspected the Government College of Technology, where EVMs are stored under high security, in preparation for the upcoming parliamentary elections on April 19.


Coimbatore: As Tamil Nadu gears up for the parliamentary elections scheduled on April 19, the eyes are on the secure arrangements made for electronic voting machines (EVMs). These crucial devices are housed at the Government College of Technology (GCT) on Thadagam Road in Coimbatore, under stringent security protocols following the voting process across the Coimbatore parliamentary constituency.

Continuing the preparedness, the counting of votes is set to take place on June 4. Daily surveillance and security of the EVMs are managed by the police force, accompanied by state-of-the-art surveillance cameras installed at the site.

In the latest development, Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Sivaguru Prabhakaran conducted an on-site inspection of the vote counting center today, April 17. During his visit, he examined all the security facilities. Following his inspection, Corporation Commissioner Prabhakaran issued several recommendations to ensure the security and integrity of the vote counting process are maintained at the highest level.
