Free Bus Service for Elderly and Disabled Voters in Coimbatore for Parliamentary Elections

On 19.04.2024, during the Parliamentary elections, Coimbatore Transportation Corporation offers a free bus service for elderly and disabled voters to facilitate their travel to polling stations between 6 AM and 7 PM.


Coimbatore: In an inclusive move to facilitate voting accessibility, Coimbatore Transportation Corporation has announced a free bus service for elderly and disabled voters for the upcoming Parliamentary elections on April 19, 2024. This initiative aims to help voters aged 60 and above, as well as those with vision impairments and other disabilities, by providing free transportation.



The free service will operate from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM on the election day. To avail this service, voters need to present their Aadhaar card and Voter ID at the time of boarding. All bus drivers and conductors have been instructed to assist these voters to ensure a smooth and hassle-free voting process for those requiring assistance.

This initiative reflects the city's commitment to ensuring a participative and inclusive democratic process by addressing mobility challenges faced by the elderly and differently-abled residents.
