Tamil Nadu Achieves Record High $9.56 Billion in Electronics Exports, Capturing Over 30% of National Share

Tamil Nadu has reached a new high in electronics exports with $9.56 billion in FY 2023-24, claiming 32.84% of India's total. Minister TRB Rajaa shared this achievement on Twitter.

Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu has shattered previous records by achieving a groundbreaking $9.56 billion in electronics exports for the fiscal year 2023-24, which constitutes a remarkable 32.84% of the total national share. Industry Minister TRB Rajaa announced that the state not only reached but also exceeded the ambitious target of $9 billion set earlier in the year. Compared to the previous year’s $5.37 billion, this marks a significant increase and positions Tamil Nadu at the forefront of the national electronics industry.

The electronics sector in Tamil Nadu is just beginning to showcase its potential, with expectations of maintaining this growth trajectory in the coming years. Tamil Nadu is demonstrating that its strategic investments and policies are cultivating an environment ripe for creating high-quality employment opportunities and substantial economic growth.

Minister Rajaa expressed optimism about the future, particularly with the hope that the new Union government will recognize and support the unique strengths of each state rather than reallocating critical electronics industry projects to states lacking a comparable infrastructure. According to Rajaa, this is only the beginning for Tamil Nadu in electronics exports, with the promise of even greater achievements ahead.
