BJP Accuses DMK and AIADMK of Voter Bribery in Coimbatore

BJP Coimbatore district President J. Ramesh Kumar has alleged that DMK and AIADMK have been bribing voters in Coimbatore for the last three days in various areas including  Singanallur, Gandhipuram, Thudiyalur, Mettupalayam, and Vadavalli.

Coimbatore: In a significant accusation ahead of the parliamentary elections, the BJP in Coimbatore has lodged a complaint against DMK and AIADMK for alleged voter bribery.

The complaint was filed at the district Collectorate by the BJP Coimbatore District President, J. Ramesh Kumar.

During a press meet, the district BJP head detailed how, over the past three days, there have been incidents at places like Singanallur, Gandhipuram, Thudiyalur, Mettupalayam, and Vadavalli where DMK members allegedly paid voters.

He highlighted a specific instance behind a private petrol bunk on the way to Kaundampalayam-Edayarpalayam route where more than a hundred people were gathered and allegedly given cash as if it were a charity event.

Furthermore, he criticized the police and officials for allegedly favoring DMK and recounted how, during AIADMK's tenure, misuse of administration for vote bribery was rampant.

Ramesh Kumar claimed that while DMK offered Rs 2000 per vote, AIADMK had provided Rs 1000. He also brought up concerns about potential voter fraud, indicating that party workers were collecting voter IDs from those absent from their homes for manipulative purposes.

The BJP district chief reiterated the party's stance against vote-for-cash practices, emphasizing that such practices are detrimental to democratic principles and stressed that strict actions should be taken regardless of the party involved.
