Voting Machines Securely Dispatched to Polling Stations in Kangayam with Armed Police Escort

In Tiruppur district, voting machines were transported from the Kangayam Revenue Divisional Office to various polling stations under heavy armed police escort, anticipating the upcoming parliamentary elections on April 19.

Tirupur: As Tiruppur district gears up for the upcoming parliamentary elections, substantial security measures were observed today during the dispatch of voting machines. The Kangayam Revenue Divisional Office was the focal point, where voting machines, control units, and VVPATs were sent off to 295 polling stations across 28 sectors in the Kangayam assembly constituency. The operation was led by Assistant Election Officer Ramkumar and Revenue Divisional Officer Mayilsamy.

The machines were transported in approximately 28 vans, guarded by police carrying firearms.

This protocol ensures that the devices remain sealed and secure until they are unboxed right before the voting starts on April 19. The task involved a security detail comprising 2 DSPs, 6 inspectors, and a combined force of 370 personnel from Tamil Nadu Police, Andhra Pradesh Rural Police, and Gujarat State Police. This meticulous security arrangement highlights the importance of safeguarding the election process and maintaining the integrity of the voting procedure.
