Journalist Alleges Threats and Negligence in Police Investigation in Coimbatore

In Coimbatore, Journalist Gurus Muthu Prince claims harassment and threats from a former police inspector, Meena Kumari, following his report on her alleged misconduct.


Coimbatore: Gurus Muthu Prince, Deputy Editor at Junior Reporter magazine, recently highlighted alarming accusations against former crime branch inspector Meena Kumari in his publication. Following the publication, Prince faced multiple threats and harassment, prompting him to seek police protection.




Prince lodged a formal complaint with the police department head, leading to an inquiry at Rathinapuri Police Station. During the investigation conducted today, May 2, Prince attended and gave testimony. However, inspector Meena Kumari abstained, further delaying the proceedings.




Post-inquiry, Prince accused the police of deliberately mishandling his complaint to protect Meena Kumari, suggesting a possible collusion aimed at safeguarding the inspector at the expense of justice.
