Hindu Munnani Leader Arrested in Coimbatore on False Accusation Charges

Hindu Munnani leader Surya Prasad arrested for falsely accusing a man of photographing him, seeking personal security. Police investigation reveals no photos on phone, Prasad arrested recently in Selvapuram, Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: In a recent incident in Selvapuram, Coimbatore, Hindu Munnani city leader Surya Prasad, 28, was arrested after falsely accusing Azharuddin, a local resident, of photographing him on phone and threatening him. This accusation was intended to gain personal protection.


According to police, Azharuddin was alleged to have taken photos of Prasad, leading to Prasad confiscating his phone and lodging a complaint at the police station. Upon inspection, the police found no pictures on the device, revealing that the allegations were fabricated.


The investigation further disclosed that Surya Prasad had orchestrated the situation to solicit personal security from the police by victimizing Azharuddin. Following the false accusation, Prasad was apprehended by Selvapuram police, leading to heightened tensions in the area. This incident has caused significant unrest in Coimbatore, questioning the security tactics employed by public figures.
