A man was arrested in Pollachi for possession and sale of marijuana following a tip-off. The police seized 1.75 kilograms of marijuana from the accused.
Coimbatore: In a significant crackdown on illegal drug trading in Coimbatore district, police efforts to eradicate the scourge of narcotics continue under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Badrinath Narayanan. As part of the operation to create a drug-free Coimbatore, the Perur Excise Enforcement team acted on a confidential tip and conducted a raid near Pollachi-Aliyar Road in Pollachi area. During the raid, Muruganandam, son of Pethinasamy from Virudhunagar district, was arrested for possessing and intending to sell marijuana. The police confiscated 1.75 kilograms of marijuana from him and he was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
