Pollachi's Private School Vehicles Undergo Annual Safety Inspection

On a regular summer holidays practice, 372 private school vehicles in Pollachi were inspected for safety norms and compliance by local traffic authorities.

Coimbatore: In Pollachi, an annual scrutiny was conducted today on 372 vehicles operated by private schools. This routine is a part of ensuring safety and regulatory compliance during the school summer break.

The vehicles were reviewed by the Pollachi Sub Collector Catherine Saranya, along with the Pollachi Police Deputy Superintendent and local traffic officers at a private hall in Unjavelampatti area.

Inspectors checked for valid driver's licenses, functioning speed governors, proper emergency exits, suitable step heights for students to board, and the availability of medical kits.

In addition, instant fire suppression methods in case of an emergency onboard these school vehicles were demonstrated by the Pollachi Fire Service department.

The inspection, mandated by government order, ensures that the vehicles are operated under transportation rules. Any vehicles found deficient will be barred from operation until rectified, reiterated Pollachi Sub Collector Catherine Saranya after the inspection.
