District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati announced that students interested in vocational courses can apply online for the upcoming academic session at various Government Industrial Training Institutes in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Aspiring students looking to enroll in vocational training courses have good news as the Coimbatore District Collector, Kranthi Kumar Pati IAS, has declared the opening of online applications for the academic year of August 2024.
Applications are being accepted for the training institutes located at Mettupalayam Road, Coimbatore Government Industrial Training Institute (Women), Coimbatore Government Industrial Training Institute (Tribes), Anaikatti, and Government Industrial Training Institute, Valparai.
A range of courses including Electrician, Mechanic Motor Vehicle (MMV), Fitter, Turner, and several others under different durations such as six months, one year, and two years training programs are available. New courses under the TATA INDUSTRY 4.0 scheme, such as Advanced CNC Machining Technician and Industrial Robotics & Digital Manufacturing, will also commence this term.
Interested candidates can register their applications at www.skilltraining.tn.gov.in by midnight of June 7, 2024. All training programs are provided free of cost, including facilities such as laptops, bicycles, bus passes, uniforms, shoes, drawing tools, and NIMI books sponsored by the government.
To aid the applicants, assistance centers have been set up to facilitate free online application registration. Moreover, a monthly educational assistance of ₹750 based on attendance is offered. The eligibility criteria for these training programs depend on the qualification, ranging from 8th-grade to 10th-grade pass. Special accommodations with food facilities are provided for backward, very backward, and tribal community students based on eligibility. The age limit set ranges from 14 to 40 years, with no upper age limit for women, ensuring wide accessibility.
Campus interviews guarantee employment opportunities for trainees in the private sector upon completing their courses, highlighted by the District Collector, emphasizing the practical benefits and career support provided by these initiatives.
