Siruvani Reservoir Water Level Rises Due to Continuous Rainfall

In Coimbatore, continuous rainfall over the past three days has significantly increased the water level of Siruvani Reservoir, impacting the drinking water supply sourced from the dam.

Coimbatore: Siruvani Reservoir, a crucial source of drinking water for Coimbatore, has seen a notable rise in its water level due to ongoing heavy rainfall in the catchment areas. Over the past months, the dam's water level had decreased significantly, with a decrease down to as low as 5 feet due to the intense heat.

The last three days, however, have brought substantial rainfall, which has raised the water level by 10 feet now standing at. This surge in water level has led to an increase in the volume of drinking water being supplied from the dam, now estimating around 3.20 crore liters.

The rise in water levels is a significant relief for the region, which has been facing water scarcity issues. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to manage the resources effectively.
