Coimbatore: After days of sweltering heat, residents of Coimbatore were greeted with widespread and continuous rainfall across the district, providing much-needed relief. Over the past few days, all parts of the district experienced scattered showers.

Today, May 17, saw cloud-covered skies leading to rain in multiple localities, including Thudiyalur, Sundarapuram, Ukkadam, Peelamedu, Singanallur, Ramanathapuram, and Madukkarai. Rain continues to fall in areas surrounding Thudiyalur, further cooling down the region.

The persistent rain brought a welcome change from the severe heatwave that had locals yearning for the onset of the monsoon. This sudden weather shift has been welcomed by the community, easing the extreme temperatures that prevailed earlier.
