Black Flag Protest Announced in Tamil Nadu Against Modi and Amit Shah's Visit

Progressive movements in Tamil Nadu have decided to protest with black flags against PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah during their visits to Kanyakumari and Madurai on the 30th.

Coimbatore: A press conference held at the Thanthai Periyar Padippagam in Gandhipuram, Coimbatore, revealed details of a black flag protest organized by various progressive movements in Tamil Nadu. This protest is slated for the upcoming visits of Prime Minister Modi to Kanyakumari and Home Minister Amit Shah to Madurai on the 30th of this month.

According to Ku. Ramakrishnan, General Secretary of the Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, this protest is in response to derogatory comments and actions perceived as attacks on the integrity of Tamil people.

Ramakrishnan also mentioned shocking allegations that during a public meeting in Odisha related to the parliamentary elections, PM Modi had irresponsibly misplaced the keys to a room containing invaluable artifacts at the Puri Jagannath Temple. This was portrayed as if Tamil Nadu individuals had stolen them, branding Tamil people as thieves and smugglers in the process. Additionally, Amit Shah is accused of creating discord between the northern states and Tamil Nadu by disparaging the dignity of Tamil individuals during his electoral rallies in the northern states.

The protest is scheduled to take place near the Kattabomman statue in Madurai at 4:30 PM on the 30th. Various parties and organizations, including the Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal, Aadithamizhar Peravai, and Dravidar Tamil Kazhagam, are expected to participate in this protest. The organizers have double-checked all arrangements to ensure a peaceful yet strong representation to demand dignity and refute the unwarranted allegations.
