In Coimbatore, two individuals were arrested for threatening a food delivery worker with a broken beer bottle and stealing Rs. 700 when he refused to give them money for alcohol on May 30.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident on May 30, Karthik, a 31-year-old food delivery worker from Kuniyamuthur, was threatened and robbed by two men while making a delivery in Coimbatore. The culprits demanded money for alcohol, and upon refusal, they broke a beer bottle, threatened him, and forcibly took Rs. 700 from him.
The victim, employed by a private food delivery company, was intercepted while on his delivery route by the perpetrators who turned violent when he refused their demands. Following the incident, Karthik reported the crime to the Kuniyamuthur Police Station. Upon investigation, the police identified the assailants as Poovendhan, a 22-year-old fishmonger from Sundakkamuthur, and Sudheerbabu, a 45-year-old painter from Sugunapuram Milekal. Both individuals have been arrested and are currently under investigation for their actions.
