Naam Tamilar Party's Coimbatore secretary Abdul Wahab filed a complaint at Coimbatore Police Commissioner's office on June 1, alleging defamation by a BJP member on social media.
Coimbatore: Abdul Wahab, the Coimbatore secretary of Naam Tamilar Party, along with other administrators, submitted a petition to the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner on June 1.
During their visit, they met Commissioner Balakrishnan and handed him a petition stating that Duraimurugan Sattai, a state policy propagator for the party, is allegedly being defamed on social media by a member of the BJP named Trichy Surya.
The complaint asserts that Trichy Surya has been spreading malicious and defamatory content about Sattai Duraimurugan, his family members, and Seeman, the party's chief coordinator, which has been reportedly encouraged by state BJP leader Annamalai.
The petition demands actionable measures against Trichy Surya and BJP leader Annamalai for not reprimanding the former's actions, thereby fostering an environment that allows defamation to continue unabated.
