Exciting Start to the Basketball Tournament at Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Indoor Stadium

The 57th Nachimuthu Gounder Cup for men and the 21st CRI Pumps Cup for women commenced at the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation Indoor Stadium on June 5. Teams from across India competed fiercely on the second day of the event.


Coimbatore: The buzzing indoor stadium of Coimbatore Municipal Corporation witnessed the commencement of the 57th Nachimuthu Gounder Cup for men and the 21st CRI Pumps Cup for women on June 5. Sporting talent flooded in, filling the venue with excitement and competitive spirit. On June 6, the Bank of Baroda team defeated Loyola College Chennai with a score of 80-70 in an intense match during the men’s category.




In another gripping duel, Chennai Indian Bank overcame the Uttar Pradesh Police team, with a finishing score of 82-73. Kerala State Electricity Board showed excellent form by defeating the Coimbatore District Basketball Association with a score of 96-67. In the women's section, Coimbatore District Basketball team faced a tough match against Secunderabad South Central Railway, who claimed a victory with an impressive score of 107-57. Furthermore, the Kolkata East Railway team narrowly beat South Chennai Railway, with the scoreboard reading 80-71. The final match of the day saw Mumbai Central Railway defeating Chennai Rising Stars 78-62 in another closely contested game, marking a series of exciting matchups and skilled displays of basketball at the event.
