Thudiyalur hosted grand celebrations for Dr. Kalaignar's 101st birthday, including flag hoisting, distribution of educational supplies to students, and breakfast service to over 300 people.
Coimbatore: The 101st birthday of revered leader Dr. Kalaignar was celebrated in Thudiyalur, Coimbatore with various welfare activities organized by the local DMK unit.
The event included hoisting the party flag at Aravan Tidal and paying homage to Dr. Kalaignar's portrait adorned with flowers.
Thondamuthur Ravi, party secretary for Coimbatore North District, led the flag-hoisting ceremony.
Following the tribute, educational materials like pencils, pens, and books were distributed to hundreds of students at the Thudiyalur DMK office by key members including T.P. Subramanian, member of the leadership council, and area secretaries Arul Kumar, Ashok Babu Aarukutty, district sports organizer Thondamuthur Thyagu, and co-organizer of the district youth wing Manoj.
The celebrations, chaired by Rajagopal, the local assembly counselor, and Shanmugasundaram, the sector secretary, also included a free breakfast service for more than 300 attendees. The arrangements for these efforts were managed by the deputy secretary of the district wing, Tamilnidhi.
