Coimbatore: A large number of candidates, amounting to 69,737, have flocked to examination centres across Coimbatore to partake in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group 4 exam.

The examination, aimed at filling 6,244 vacancies for various posts including Village Administrative Officers, Junior Assistants, Typists, and other positions, commenced this morning. These posts were announced by TNPSC in January, attracting about 20 lakh applications from across the state.
The exam is being held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at 232 venues designated throughout the district.

Noteworthy among the attendees at the St. Michael’s Higher Secondary School in Town Hall area was Carolina, from Sowripalayam, who managed a notable feat by attending the exam with her six-month-old baby. She cared for her child until the exam began, subsequently handing the baby over to her husband, to focus on her test.

Despite instructions for candidates to enter examination centers by 9 AM, a few arrived a few minutes late. However, officials allowed these latecomers to enter, emphasizing the importance of punctuality. Those significantly late were not permitted to take the exam.
