Sanitation workers held a protest at South Tahsildar’s office demanding reinstatement of 48 workers fired illegally by a private contractor at Coimbatore International Airport and immediate employment compensation.
Coimbatore: A significant protest was organized by the Social Justice Sanitation Workers Association demanding the cancellation of a private contract and immediate compensation for 48 sanitations workers unjustly dismissed at Coimbatore International Airport. The demonstration took place in front of the South Tahsildar's office at around 4 PM.
Brinda, the district leader of the association, led the protest, emphasizing the need for justice and the reinstatement of the dismissed employees. State leader of the Social Justice Party, lawyer N. Pannerselvam, delivered a condemning speech critiquing the wrongful termination.
Other key figures such as General Secretary Vellamadai Nagarasan, Commander Senthil, Jayapal, Prabhakaran, and Muthupandi also supported the protest, attended by a large number of comrades calling out for fair treatment and highlighting the struggles of the affected workers.
