Centenary Celebrations at Coimbatore Police Hospital on Avinashi Road

The centenary celebrations of the Coimbatore Police Hospital, located in the city's Armed Forces premises, were held recently, commemorating its inception in 1924.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Police Hospital, inaugurated in 1924, recently observed its centennial with a grand celebration in the city. The event was marked by the unveiling of a commemorative plaque by Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan, who led the ceremony in the Police Armed Forces premises on Avinashi Road. He appreciated the longstanding service of the medical staff to the police community.




During his speech, Commissioner Balakrishnan highlighted the vital role of the medical team in providing care with compassion to ailing police personnel, contributing significantly to their quick recovery. He emphasized the importance of the medical field alongside law enforcement in serving and safeguarding the community.






The celebration was attended by notable dignitaries including Assistant Commissioner of Police Sekhar, Traffic Inspector Jayavel, Armed Forces Inspector Kittu, former Police Officers Association President Rathinam, and medical officers from the hospital, Dr. Selvi and Dr. Uma. The event also saw the distribution of mementos to medical staff who have shown exceptional dedication and service over the years. Former and retired medical officers were honoured with shawls.




The centennial milestone of the Coimbatore Police Hospital was celebrated not only as a commemoration of its long history but also as recognition of the critical healthcare services it has provided to the police department and their families throughout the decades.
