Toxic Liquor Death Toll Rises to 61 in Tamil Nadu

The death toll from consuming toxic liquor in Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu has risen to 61 following Esudas's death at JIPMER, Puducherry. Twenty others still under treatment at the hospital.


Coimbatore: In a tragic turn of events, the death toll from consuming toxic liquor in Kallakurichi, Tamil Nadu has climbed to 61. Esudas, 35, who had been undergoing treatment at JIPMER in Puducherry after ingesting the contaminated beverage, passed away recently. Presently, 20 individuals are admitted at JIPMER for related ailments; of these, 3 have died and 6 have recovered and returned home. Additionally, 10 others continue to receive ongoing treatment, battling the severe effects of the toxic liquor.
