Over 20 members of the SIO held a protest near Valliyammal Bakery in Ukkadam, Coimbatore, at 5 PM on Friday, demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister over alleged malpractices in NEET.
Coimbatore: The Students' Islamic Organisation (SIO) conducted a protest in the Ukkadam area near Valliyammal Bakery today, urging the resignation of the Union Education Minister, alleging various irregularities in medical entrance examinations such as NEET and UGC NET.

The protest began around 5 PM and saw participation from more than 20 members.

The protest follows the cancellation of the UGC NET exam, uncovering malpractices similar to those alleged in the undergraduate NEET exam. Additionally, the NEET exam for postgraduate medical courses has been postponed, which activists claim disrupts the aspirations and affects the mental and financial well-being of many students.

SIO members strongly condemned these irregularities and the delay in the exams, emphasizing the severe impact on the students waiting to join postgraduate medical courses.

They demanded accountability and immediate actions to ensure transparency and fairness in conducting these critical examinations.
