Coimbatore Police Reports Over 570 Cyber Crime Complaints in June

In June alone, the Coimbatore Cyber Crime unit received over 570 complaints, signaling a concerning rise in cyber crimes. Police urge the public to stay alert due to the prevalence of online frauds.


Coimbatore: Recent data released by the Coimbatore City Police highlights a significant spike in cyber crimes, with daily collections of numerous complaints at the city's cyber crime department. Within June, a staggering 570 complaints were recorded, prompting continuous action from the cyber crime unit.

Following various complaints received over the months, actions taken in June alone led to the recovery of Rs. 1.5 crore, which has been returned to the affected parties by the Coimbatore Cyber Crime Police.

Given the increasing instances of online fraud, the police have now issued a warning, advising the public to remain vigilant and cautious.
