Drunk man found sleeping at Pollachi Sub-Collector's office, creates commotion

A man in an inebriated state was found sleeping at the Pollachi Sub-Collector's office, causing a stir. Police had to intervene to wake him up and remove him from the premises.

Coimbatore: In an unusual incident, a heavily intoxicated man was found sleeping soundly at the Pollachi Sub-Collector's office premises, causing a commotion among the staff and visitors.

The Sub-Collector's office, located in the heart of Pollachi town, is a bustling place with over a hundred people visiting daily for various official purposes. On Wednesday evening, employees were surprised to find a man in a drunken stupor, snoring away as if he were in his own home.

Initially, the staff thought the man had fainted and attempted to revive him with water. Upon realizing he was under the influence of alcohol, they immediately alerted the police.

When the police arrived and tried to wake him up, the man reportedly said, "Don't wake me up. I'm sleepy. Please don't disturb me," showcasing his level of intoxication. After a prolonged struggle, the police managed to rouse him from his slumber.

Once awake, the man argued with the police, saying, "Why did you wake me up? I want to sleep. Don't bother me. This is a government office, anyone can come and sleep here. I'll sleep just like that." This led to a heated exchange between the man and the police officers.

The police engaged in a lengthy conversation with the man before finally convincing him to leave the premises. The incident created a brief moment of tension in the area, drawing curious onlookers and disrupting the normal functioning of the office.
