Public Distress as Garbage from Tasmac Shops Near Mettupalayam Bus Stand Set on Fire

Residents near Mettupalayam bus stand complain about the burning of Tasmac shop waste, causing smoke and health hazards. They demand immediate action from authorities to address the issue.

Coimbatore: Residents living near the Mettupalayam bus stand are facing severe inconvenience due to the burning of waste from nearby Tasmac shops. The area, which houses three Tasmac outlets, has become a hotspot for littering and subsequent burning of alcohol-related waste, causing distress to the local population.

Customers purchasing alcohol from these shops often consume it in the vicinity, discarding empty bottles and plastic tumblers in the surrounding area. This has led to a significant accumulation of garbage, resulting in foul odors and unsanitary conditions.

Adding to the problem, unidentified individuals have been setting fire to these waste piles. The resulting smoke is not only a nuisance but also poses potential health risks to the residents. The community is particularly concerned about the environmental impact and the degradation of their living conditions due to these irresponsible actions.

In response to this ongoing issue, local residents have raised their voices, demanding immediate action from the authorities. On July 6, they formally appealed for appropriate measures to be taken to address this pressing problem. The community hopes for a swift resolution to improve the cleanliness and safety of their neighborhood.
