Coimbatore: In a shocking incident near Pollachi, a goods auto owner was brutally murdered, leading to the arrest of three individuals, including a minor. The victim, identified as Prabhakaran (32), son of Raja from Sathyamoorthy Nagar, Madukkarai Market Road, Sundarapuram, Coimbatore, was found dead in his vehicle on the Chettipalayam-Vadachithur Road near Panappatti junction.

According to police reports, unidentified persons had hired Prabhakaran's auto for a ride. During the journey, the assailants suddenly attacked Prabhakaran with sharp weapons, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene. Passersby discovered the body in the auto and alerted the Negamam police, who rushed to the location and sent the body for post-mortem examination.

The police registered a case and formed five special teams to investigate the murder. With the help of sniffer dogs and forensic experts, they began the hunt for the culprits. The breakthrough came when they arrested Sadiq Basha (36), the husband of Prabhakaran's sister, from the Pottanur area of Coimbatore.

During interrogation, Sadiq Basha made a startling confession. He revealed that he had planned Prabhakaran's murder as the victim was opposed to Basha's plans to marry another woman. Basha admitted to conspiring with his friend Manikandan (24) and a minor to carry out the killing.

Following this confession, the police arrested Sadiq Basha, Manikandan, and the minor. All three have been booked for murder and remanded to judicial custody by the court. The involvement of a minor in such a heinous crime has sent shockwaves through the community, raising concerns about youth involvement in violent activities.
