The 75th Coimbatore District Weightlifting Championship 2024 was held on July 14 at Udayampalayam, Thingalur Mariamman Temple ground. Na. Karthik, ex-MLA and Coimbatore Urban District DMK Secretary, attended the event.
Coimbatore: The 75th Coimbatore District Weightlifting Championship 2024 was held on July 14 at the Thingalur Mariamman Temple ground in Udayampalayam. The event was jointly organized by the Coimbatore District Weightlifters Association and the Udayampalayam Weightlifters Association.

Na. Karthik, former MLA and Coimbatore Urban District DMK Secretary, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

He delivered a special address and congratulated the participants.
The event saw the participation of several notable figures, including R. Cheralathan, Secretary of Peelamedu Area-3, P. Marichellvan, Chairman of the Municipal Health Committee, Geetha Cheralathan MC, U.K. Ramasamy, R. Senthil, Trustee Vasantha Kumar, Nageswaran, ICF Gopalakrishnan, Ranganathan, Disco Kaja, and S. Panneerselvam.
Officials from the Udayampalayam Weightlifters Association and the Coimbatore District Weightlifters Association were also present. The event drew a large crowd, including party officials, bodybuilders, youth, students, and the general public, showcasing the growing interest in weightlifting in the region.
