Coimbatore: The Adi Dravidar Welfare Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj inaugurated a new public distribution system (PDS) fair price shop building in Konerippatti area of Ponnivadi Panchayat, under Moolanur Panchayat Union near Dharapuram in Tiruppur district. The inaugural ceremony took place today for the facility constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 8.10 lakh.
Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj officially opened the new building, which was constructed under the All Village Anna Renaissance Scheme 2021-2022. Following the inauguration, the Minister distributed essential commodities to ration cardholders in the area.

During her visit, the Minister also interacted with children studying at the Moolanur Panchayat Union Primary School in Konerippatti. She inquired about their studies and later distributed sweets to the students. The event was attended by Dharapuram Revenue Divisional Officer Senthil Arasan, Tahsildar Govindasamy, District Supply Officer Senthil, and other government officials and authorities.
The new fair price shop is expected to improve the distribution of essential commodities to the local residents, ensuring better access to the public distribution system in the Konerippatti area.
