One More Death in Sulur Fire Incident, Toll Rises to Four

A fire accident near Sulur on Monday night claimed three lives initially. One more person succumbed to injuries on July 16, raising the death toll to four.


Coimbatore: The death toll in the fire incident that occurred near Sulur in Coimbatore district has risen to four, as one more person succumbed to injuries on Sunday, July 16.

The tragic incident took place on Monday night in Muthukavundanputhur near Sulur. Initially, three young men from Kadamalaikundu area in Theni district - Alagarraja (24), Muthukumar (23), and Karuppusamy (26) - lost their lives on the spot.

Four others who sustained severe injuries in the fire were admitted to various hospitals. Dineshkumar (23), Manoj (24), and Pandeeswaran (27) were taken to Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital, while Veeramani (21) from Aandipatty was admitted to a private hospital.

Veeramani, who was undergoing treatment at the private hospital, passed away on Sunday, July 16. This unfortunate death has increased the total number of casualties in the Sulur fire incident to four.

The local authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and are expected to release a detailed report soon. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many calling for stricter fire safety measures in the area.
