Students of Camford International School attempt Guinness Record to glorify Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

This morning, the students of Camford International School  brought to life the former President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, through a colourful paper cup mosaic. As many as 167 students participated, ranging from grades 6 to 11 took part in this Guinness attempt.

They built the mosaic using 2 lakh 35 thousand disposable cups. The cups were arranged in 5 different colors which included Black, Blue and White, over an area of 10560 sq. feet. They began the preparation at 6:30 in the morning, and completed the task in 3 hours and 40 minutes.

The attempt was also an effort to break the previous Guinness World Record for the world’s largest cup mosaic, which was done using 1,40,000 cups to create a Vodafone logo and the time taken was 4:15 hrs. One surveyor, 2 witnesses and 4 stewards were appointed by the school as per Guinness guidelines.

The school chairman, Arul Ramesh, was also present along with the principal to grace this eventful occasion. This was an activity conducted by the school to bring about teamwork amongst students and to glorify Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

Kudos to this wonderful tribute to our former president, who still lives on in the heart of every Indian.
