DYFI Protests Demanding Immediate Launch of 4G and 5G Services on BSNL Network

DYFI members staged a protest in front of the BSNL office in Coimbatore, demanding the immediate launch of 4G and 5G services on the BSNL network. The demonstration included slogans against the central government.

Coimbatore: Members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest in front of the BSNL office in Coimbatore, demanding the immediate launch of 4G and 5G services on the BSNL network. The demonstrators raised slogans against the central government during the protest.

Arjun, the DYFI Coimbatore District Secretary, stated, "After the price hike by Jio and Airtel, more than 80 lakh people have switched to BSNL. BSNL can provide the 900-rupee package offered by Airtel and Jio for just 400 rupees. However, 4G and 5G services have not been provided to BSNL to date."

He further added, "After a prolonged struggle, only one BSNL 4G tower has been installed in a village near Chennai. Currently, the tender for this has been given to Tata company. If the government thinks that what it cannot do, private companies can, then is this government for the people or for private entities?"

Arjun emphasized, "Instead of issuing tenders to private companies, the government itself should take action and provide solutions to the people. The public sector should be protected. If appropriate action is not taken, DYFI will launch protests across the country."

The DYFI members urged the government to expedite the process of launching 4G and 5G services for BSNL, highlighting the importance of strengthening the public sector telecommunications company to provide affordable services to the masses.
