BJP State President Annamalai attended a meeting in Coimbatore, discussing upcoming election strategies and expectations for Tamil Nadu's development in the Union Budget.

Coimbatore: BJP State President Annamalai attended a meeting in Coimbatore on Sunday, where he discussed strategies for the upcoming elections and shared his expectations for Tamil Nadu's development in the Union Budget.

The meeting, held at Gujarat Samaj Mandapam on Mettupalayam Road, was organized to appreciate and advise volunteers who worked for the BJP during the recent parliamentary elections. Annamalai addressed the gathering, outlining the party's plans for the upcoming assembly elections.

Speaking to reporters after the event, Annamalai stated, "The Finance Minister will present the central budget for BJP's third term. We expect it to include aspects that will shape India into a developed nation by 2047. We also anticipate key features focusing on Tamil Nadu's development."

Regarding GST, Annamalai mentioned that opinions from various stakeholders are being collected. He noted that GST revenue collection this year has surpassed last year's figures, and decisions on GST will be made considering all parties' requests.

Addressing the issue of electricity tariff hikes in Tamil Nadu, Annamalai defended the central government's UDAY scheme. He criticized the DMK government for not implementing its election promise of monthly electricity bill collection, stating that the current bi-monthly system burdens the public and businesses.

Annamalai also announced plans to invite the Union Home Minister to Coimbatore for the inauguration of the BJP's party office. He touched upon various other topics, including the DMK's stance on Ram Rajya, Sanskrit language funding, and the inclusion of new members in the BJP.

The BJP leader concluded by mentioning a report he was releasing on DMK members with criminal backgrounds, claiming it lists 112 individuals involved in serious crimes across 18 pages with names, photos, and evidence.
