AIADMK Reunification Impossible with EPS: TTV Dhinakaran

TTV Dhinakaran, General Secretary of AMMK, stated that AIADMK's reunification is impossible as long as Edappadi Palaniswami, whom he called a selfish person, remains in the party.

Coimbatore: TTV Dhinakaran, General Secretary of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), has declared that the reunification of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is impossible as long as Edappadi Palaniswami (EPS) remains in the party. Dhinakaran labeled EPS as a "selfish person" whose presence hinders any chance of AIADMK's unity.

In a recent interview, Dhinakaran expressed his belief that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would form the government in Tamil Nadu in 2026. He added, "There is hope that all of Jayalalithaa's followers will unite. However, as long as the selfish Edappadi Palaniswami is there, there is no chance for AIADMK to reunite."

Commenting on the recent Union Budget, Dhinakaran described it as a budget aimed at the progress of the poor, farmers, youth, and mothers. He highlighted its focus on employment, student education loans, farmers' economic development, and the country's advancement towards becoming a superpower. However, he noted an expectation that there were no special schemes for Tamil Nadu in the budget, stating it was an overall budget for the entire country.

Dhinakaran's statements come amidst ongoing political tensions within the AIADMK and speculations about potential realignments in Tamil Nadu's political landscape. His remarks about the BJP-led NDA forming the government in Tamil Nadu in 2026 and the impossibility of AIADMK's reunification under current circumstances have added a new dimension to the state's political discourse.
