Coimbatore: The Kuniyamuthur police received information on July 28 about the sale of ganja and narcotic pills in the Kurichi Kulakkarai area of Coimbatore. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the police team rushed to the spot.
Upon arrival, the officers found five individuals behaving suspiciously. As the police approached, one person managed to escape, while the remaining four were apprehended for questioning. During the search, it was revealed that the suspects were in possession of ganja and narcotic pills intended for sale.
Further investigation identified the arrested individuals as Kesavan from Vellalore Housing Board Colony, Rafeek and Abdul Rahim from Kuniyamuthur, and Sanoob from Sundarapuram. The police seized 1 kg of ganja and 133 narcotic pills from their possession.
The four suspects have been taken into custody, and the police are actively searching for the fifth person, identified as Manojkumar, who managed to flee during the initial encounter. The Kuniyamuthur police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the drug peddling network in the area.
