Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) has announced the operation of special buses for the upcoming Aadi Amavasya festival. According to a recent press release by the Managing Director of TNSTC, 200 special buses will be operated from various locations including Bengaluru, Tirupur, Erode, and Coimbatore to different destinations on Sunday, coinciding with Aadi Amavasya.

In addition to these services, TNSTC has planned extra special buses on Saturday from Chennai, Salem, Coimbatore, Erode, and Bengaluru to Rameswaram. Return services from Rameswaram to these cities will be available the following day, Sunday.

The transport corporation has advised passengers to book their tickets for long-distance journeys in advance through the official website https://tnstc.in or via the mobile application. This move is expected to ease the travel process for devotees planning to visit Rameswaram for the Aadi 18 festival.

The Aadi Amavasya is a significant day in the Tamil calendar, falling on the new moon day of the Tamil month of Aadi. It is considered an auspicious time for performing rituals for ancestors, and many people travel to holy places like Rameswaram to offer prayers and perform ceremonies.

These special bus services are part of TNSTC's efforts to accommodate the increased passenger traffic during this festive season, ensuring that devotees can reach their destinations safely and comfortably.
