Admission Deadline Extended at Coimbatore Women's Government Industrial Training Institute

The Coimbatore Women's Government Industrial Training Institute has extended its spot admission deadline to August 16, 2024. Various courses are offered with no upper age limit and no special fees.


Coimbatore: The Women's Government Industrial Training Institute in Coimbatore has announced an extension of the deadline for spot admissions for the 2024 academic year. Initially scheduled from July 1 to July 31, 2024, the admission period has now been extended until August 16, 2024.

The institute welcomes applications from women who have completed either 8th or 10th grade. Notably, there is no upper age limit for applicants, and no special fees are charged for the training programs. For those who wish to apply in person, assistance is available at the institute's help center.

The institute offers a variety of courses, including one-year programs in Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA), Desktop Publishing Operator (DTPO), IoT Technician (Smart Health Care), and Sewing Technology. Two-year courses include Instrument Mechanic (IM), Electronics Mechanic (EM), Information Technology (IT), and Technician Medical Electronics (TME). Additionally, a six-month course in Smart Phone Technician Cum App Tester is available.

Upon successful completion of the training, students will receive a National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) certificate from the central government. All trainees are eligible for a monthly stipend of Rs.750. Under the Pudhumai Penn Scheme, girls who studied in government schools will receive an additional Rs.1000 per month.

The institute provides various benefits to students, including bicycles, uniforms, footwear, textbooks, drawing instruments, and free bus passes for distances up to 30 kilometers. Students also have opportunities for industrial visits, in-plant training, and internships to gain practical knowledge of modern industrial developments.
